Emmanuelle Bertrand invites Christophe Malavoy, Didier Sandre and François Marthouret in turn and pays tribute to their side to his illustrious "grandfather of the cello", Maurice Maréchal. Together, they tell us the unusual story of his war cello "The Hairy", made during the trench warfare and carved out of German ammunition boxes. Reproduced identically by luthier Jean-Louis Prochasson, the miraculous sound of this instrument arises from the past to share with us his story and that of his young soldier who will become one of the greatest cellists of all time.
This concert-lecture can be given in solo version or with the participation of one of the actors Christophe Malavoy, Didier Sandre or François Marthouret.
A young audience version of this show exists jointly and is called "A cello like no other".
