Juliette Hurel (biographie courte) Flute

Juliette Hurel is a multi-faceted flautist, winner of a Premier Prix at the Paris Conservatoire and of numerous international competitions. Her expressive, communicative playing has been heard on the world's greatest stages, from the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées to the Wigmore Hall, and at prestigious festivals such as La Roque d'Anthéron and Colmar.

Since 1993, she has shared a harmonious complicity with pianist Hélène Couvert, giving birth to numerous albums and audacious projects, such as the musical readings Misia, Reine de Paris and Vive l'amour, in the company of actress Julie Depardieu.

Her critically acclaimed discography explores a wide range of music, from Bach to forgotten female composers.

She is passionately committed to contemporary music, premiering works by Mantovani, Hersant and Dusapin.

Principal flutist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra since 1998, she teaches at Codarts (Rotterdam) and is artistic director of the ‘Rencontres Musicales de Noyers’ and the ‘Musicales du Golfe’.

She plays an 18-carat gold Pearl flute.
