Nicolas Simon (bio courte) conductor

 

Principal conductor of the Caen Orchestra since 2020, founder, artistic and musical director of La Symphonie de Poche, musical director of the Yellow Socks Orchestra, and director of the Démos project, Nicolas Simon is a conductor who inspires others. He is constantly striving to renew the close relationship between performers, composers, and audiences.

Nicolas Simon is highly regarded by the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, the Orchestre de l’Opéra National de Lorraine, the Orchestre National de Metz, the Orchestre de Picardie, the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Rouen, the Orchestre de Chambre de Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Orchestre national Avignon-Provence, the Lille National Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, Les Siècles; and abroad, with the London Symphony Orchestra, the SWR Sinfonie Orchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg, the Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Palestine Youth Orchestra.

In opera, he has conducted La Dame Blanche in Rennes, Compiègne, Quimper, Tourcoing, Dunkirk, Besançon, and Saint-Céré; Zaïde in Rennes, Nantes, Quimper, Besançon, and Avignon; Pelléas et Mélisande in Caen; and Le docteur Miracle in Poitiers and Bordeaux.
