Carole Petitdemange violin

 

Carole Petitdemange has always been especially attracted by chamber music. She formed various formation, sonata, trio and she is former member of Ardeo quartet. She has won several prizes at national and international violin,sonatas and string quartet  competitions : Vatelot, Epinal, Canet en Roussilon, Pinerolo (Italia), Katerinholm (Suède), Shostakovich International String Quartet Competition, Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition, International Chamber Music Competition in Melbourne, International String Quartet Competition « Premio Paolo Borciani »,...

Beyond the teaching Carole Petitdemange received at the CNSM in Paris with J.J.Kantorow and P.L.Aimard, she further perfected  music playing with Rainer Schmidt of the Hagen Quartet at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, and also benefited from advice in master classes from such masters as the Hagen Quartet and the Fine Arts Quartet, P.L. Aimard, W. Levin, G. Pichler, P. Katz, A. Meunier, E. Feltz, G. Takacs, A. Keller, A. Brendel, F.Rados…

She played in famous venues and festivals in Europe : Konzerthaus in Viena, Philharmonie in Köln, Santander in Spain, Kuhmo in Finland, Amsterdam Concertgebouw in the Netherlands, Basel Casino in Switzerland, Lockenhaus in Austria, the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival and the Bonn Beethovenfest in Germany, Youri Bashmet’s Festival Elba isola musicale d'Europa,  Amici de la Musica Firenze in Italy, Prussia Cove in England, Christmas in the Kremlin in Russia, Folles journées in Japon. Carole Petitdemange has collaborated with many of the leading musicians of our time, including : D.Kadouch, B.Chamayou, J.Ducros, R.Capuçon,  J.Pernoo, A.Meunier, V.Mendelssohn, N.Bone, E.Koroliov, M.Brunello, C.Richter, P.Katz, R.Bieri, M.Portal…

Very interested in contemporary composition, she has worked in close collaboration with composers such as Jonathan Harvey, Edith Canat de Chizy and Kaija Saariaho…She made various recordings for Aparte, Arrese, Decca...Last one was Three Quartets by A.Reicha for Empreinte Digitale. Carole Petitdemange is currently professor at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Zaragosa.
