Biographie violin's duet

Sarah and Deborah Nemtanu form an obvious duet. Their perfect knowledge and understanding of each other, as well as their huge complicity, make their meeting a unique and magical moment. Spontaneity, naturalness and joy of living are the key words of their musical philosophy. Moreover, their differences enrich their interpretations, the purity and precision of Deborah joining the ardour and intensity of Sarah.

From an early age, they have approached the intimate and virtuoso repertoire of the « two violins ». A repertoire that never stops to evolve and expand itself with the works of contemporary composers such as Eric Tanguy, Philippe Hersant, Benoît Menut, Edith Lejet…

It was once their personal journey was well established that they decided to record their first Bach/Schnittke record released in 2014. In 2016, the release of their second CD dedicated to Bartok’s duets opened unexpected horizons for them, like sharing the Grand Rex stage with Iggy Pop! Acclaimed by critics, the big labels quickly propose them new projects. Thus, their third album, jointly recorded with the Kodama sisters, is dedicated to the composer Martinu and released for the Pentatone Label, with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille under the direction of Lawrence Foster.

Deborah’s attraction for the warm timbre of the viola also opened them the great repertoire of the duet «violin and viola».
