Ravel's collaboration with Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes gave rise to Daphnis et Chloé in 1912, of which Claire-Marie Le Guay has recorded the original version for piano (Accord/UNIVERSAL). To mark the 150th anniversary of Ravel's birth, Claire-Marie Le Guay has joined forces with dancer and choreographer Constant Vigier to present a new production of this iconic masterpiece. ‘There is no sound except the murmur of the rivulets gathered by the dew that flows from the rocks. Daphnis is still lying in front of the nymphs’ cave. Little by little, day is breaking.’
