The encounter between the Spaniards and the Mexicas in 1519, followed by that with the Incas in 1532, was a true clash of cultures, the likes of which had probably never been seen since the dawn of human history. And it is this story that this musical album brings to life.

Conceived by Pierre Hamon, ‘Incas and Conquistadors’ emerged from research into the soundscapes of pre-Columbian civilisations, enriched by remarkable encounters with musicians, researchers, ethnomusicologists and archaeomusicologists from North and South America, and follows on from his work as a composer for the animated film PACHAMAMA, set during the era of the Conquista in the Inca Empire.
