Geoffroy Couteau, piano
Quatuor Hermès
When a long-term project becomes reality In March 2016, Geoffroy Couteau published the complete works for solo piano by Johannes Brahms in a boxed set of six albums released by La Dolce Volta. After this sum, the pianist affirms his passion for the composer by continuing his musical adventure with the realization of a complete set devoted to his chamber music with piano. With the kind complicity of sound engineer and artistic director Jean-Marc Laisné, this marathon has found a home in the exceptional acoustics of the Grande Salle de L'Arsenal de Metz in eight recording sessions, from October 2017 to September 2019, bringing together the Quatuor Hermès, cellist Raphaël Perraud, violinist Amaury Coeytaux, clarinettist Nicolas Baldeyrou and horn player Vladimir Dubois. Here is the first volume of this pharaonic project: the Quintet for piano and strings in F minor op.34, coupled with the Klavierstücke op.76.
