Deborah Nemtanu, violin
Pierre Cussac, accordion & arrangements

Deborah Nemtanu meets accordionist Pierre Cussac in a repertoire at the crossroads of worlds. In ‘Balada’, they offer a journey into the spirit of storyteller musicians, giving pride of place to Eastern European music, lyricism and dancing virtuosity.

Shaped by customised arrangements and compositions, the programme invites the audience to (re)discover pieces where classical writing and popular inspirations merge. Sarasate's famous ‘Airs Bohémiens’ thus respond to Bartok's ‘Romanian Dances’, while Achron's profound ‘Hebrew Melody’ echoes Dvorak's ‘Songs my mother taught me’.
