VIOLIN

Paris-Brussels

This program offers a journey to the heart of French musical modernity and its resonances. From the free, almost improvised poetry of Debussy’s Sonata to the finely crafted elegance of Ravel’s Sonatine, a constantly evolving sonic world takes shape, where color and suggestion take precedence over traditional musical discourse.

In contrast, Ysaÿe’s Second Sonata, deeply influenced by Bach, creates a dialogue between heritage and invention through virtuosic and introspective writing. Finally, Franck’s Sonata, an emblematic work of the repertoire, brings these aesthetics together in a cyclical structure of great expressive intensity.

Thus, this program explores the subtle links between tradition and innovation, between intimacy and brilliance, in a constant dialogue between the violin and the piano, by turns complicit, solitary, and in perfect harmony.
