A production by the Ensemble Contraste.

There are songs that tell the story of a whole life.
Jacques Brel is one of those artists who turned song into theater. In Brel’s work, we encounter lovers, dreamers, loners, the elderly, and madmen.

In Brel’s world, we love to lose our minds, we wait for the one who will never come, we dream of distant islands and promised lands. We defy time, we beg, we rebel. And we continue, despite everything, to believe in the impossible.

From “Ne me quitte pas” to “La Chanson des vieux amants,” from “Jef” to “Madeleine,” from the streets of Brussels to the “Prénoms” of Paris, his songs paint a vast human tapestry.

With this new show, the Ensemble Contraste delves into the world of Jacques Brel, continuing, as always, to chase the unattainable star.
