American Rhapsodies

From New York to Buenos Aires

From George Gershwin’s jazz to Steve Reich’s urban beats, from Leonard Bernstein’s incisive rhythms to the nostalgia of Astor Piazzolla’s tango nuevo, this program spans the Americas throughout the 20th century.

Amid New York’s effervescence, popular influences, minimalism, and lyricism, the clarinet and piano explore a free and eclectic musical continent, where the boundaries between classical, jazz, and popular music blur.

The concert’s highlight, the famous *Rhapsody in Blue*, showcases all the virtuosity and flamboyance of this musical journey, from Broadway to the vibrant hues of Buenos Aires.
