Poems of the soul

A recital inspired by Louis Janmot's Poème de l'âme, a lifetime project of the Lyon artist, both pictorial and literary: composed of 34 compositions and accompanied by a poem two thousand eight hundred verses long, it illustrates the initiatory journey of a soul on Earth.

Poetry and spirituality are inseparable from Franz Liszt, as they are from Federico Mompou, inspired by the Spiritual Canticle of Saint John of the Cross.

Although Alexander Scriabin did not borrow his titles from literary authors, he explored the genre of the Poem in Music and oriented his work towards a symbolist philosophy, gradually becoming a mysticism of ecstasy.
