La Nébuleuse / Gabriel Rignol

EARLY MUSIC

Lautenkonzerte

One of the only traces of concertos for Baroque lute (apart from Vivaldi). It also bears witness to the galant period, the transition between Baroque and Classicism. It also bears witness to the chamber music that was written for the lute (notably the trios galants in Vienna, of which Vivaldi wrote two during the last years of his life in Vienna). This music was certainly written for a music salon in Austria or south-east Germany, for and by virtuoso lutenists of the time (Weiss, Hagen & Falkenhagen).
