Trio SR9

Night is a sensory journey into the heart of a moment where time stands still. For the duration of a concert, the night becomes a space of freedom where boundaries dissolve: between eras, between genres, between classical and pop music, between the intimate and the spectacular.

Accompanied by the SR9 Trio, Fredrika Stahl performs within a soundscape composed of a marimba, a vibraphone, a drum set, a prepared piano, and tuned glasses. The instruments unfold a multifaceted palette, by turns melodic, rhythmic, and delicate. Their timbres blend with the voice and become a living substance, sketching a nocturnal landscape where sounds echo one another, transform, and seem to breathe.

From Henry Purcell and Gabriel Fauré to the compositions of Fredrika Stahl, the program also engages in dialogue with contemporary artists such as Fiona Apple and PJ Harvey. Works separated by several centuries thus come together within the same musical space, giving rise to unexpected connections and resonances. 

The concert is conceived as a true journey: entering the night, losing oneself in it, dreaming within it, being surprised by voices that emerge from the darkness, and then emerging from it with a renewed sense of listening.

Between shadow and light, the centuries converge, voices are set free, and the boundaries between classical and pop music dissolve, giving rise to a shared language.
