Trio Talweg

These five musicians, long-standing friends and musical partners, present an exciting and original programme centred on a masterpiece of the Romantic period, Antonín Dvořák’s Dumky Trio.

An heir to the German Romantic style, Dvořák enriched his musical language with elements from Bohemian and Moravian folklore in order to depict the nature and culture of the Czech and Slav lands.

Six original pieces composed or arranged especially for the occasion by Tomás Gubitsch, Vincent Segal and Sébastien Surel will be performed in a provocative juxtaposition with the Czech composer’s six dumky.

The resultant dialogue promises to be both elegant and emotive, with the talent of these five adventurous musicians ranging through an alluring landscape of contemporary music while showcasing the interplay between their artistic interests, which range from jazz to tango, from rock to world music.
