Saint-Saëns and Fauré, two great representatives of the end of romanticism, a master and a student linked by the same musical ideal. Both, with the passion of youth or during their full maturity, gave tender and luminous works. Faced with Wagnerian mists, they clarified the French musical landscape. At her desk as First Violin of the Paris Chamber Orchestra or as a soloist, violinist Deborah Nemtanu delivers her vision of the last French romantics.

Harriet Smith, Gramophone, May 2013

Nemtanu captures well the intimacy of Saint-Saëns's youthfull First Violin Concerto and she's equally comfortable in that virtuoso standard, the Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, lending an almost vocal intensity to the sinuous lines of the slower music and making the work her own every bit as convincingly as Janine Jansen did in her 2003 recording for Decca.

Jean-Michel Molkhou, Diapason, avril 2013

Christian Merlin, Le Figaro, mars 2013
