Have you ever dreamed of attending a piano lesson given by Chopin?

By decoding the little-known method written by Chopin and the testimonies of his rare pupils, Pascal Amoyel, himself of Franco-Polish descent, brings him back to life in an imaginary and moving dialogue...

Following the success of his previous one-man shows (Le Pianiste aux 50 doigts, Le Jour où j'ai rencontré Franz Liszt and Looking for Beethoven) in Paris, the rest of France and abroad, this season Pascal Amoyel presents his latest musical, Une leçon de piano avec Chopin: an expert, passionate and sensitive reading of Chopin's First Ballade as a musical treasure imagined and performed by the man who in 2010 was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque in Warsaw by the prestigious Société Chopin for his complete Nocturnes. As a privileged witness to this intimate transmission from master to pupil, the audience is transported by the music and storytelling of the great pianist and Victoire de la Musique winner. A must-see nugget! Find out more

The Quatuor Leonis have pulled off a double Eclisse totale in the run-up to Christmas in the Orne region (France). Join them at the Halle aux Toiles in Alençon this Sunday December 22nd at 11am and again at 4.30pm!

Armed with diplomas from the most prestigious conservatoires in France and the rest of the world, and having spent over 10 years touring the classical music scene, the 4 musicians of the Leonis quartet will spend 1 hour in a veritable musical eclipse, carried away by their wheelchairs, playing and dancing at the same time, tightrope walkers on their strings, in a burlesque and poetic universe.

In an atmosphere worthy of the greatest rock stages, the show ends with the audience on its feet and conquered, proof that classical musicians too are sometimes capable of unleashing passions. Halfway between Philippe Genty and the Quatuor, Manu Kroupit's crazy world, like the moon obscuring the sun, will transform these classical angels into music-hungry wolf garocks.

Like a tree whose many roots are rooted in different fertile soils and draw their energy from them, Canticum Novum has continued to grow and intensify over the years, opening itself up to new human and musical adventures. In this anniversary programme, produced to mark the ensemble's 25th anniversary, Canticum Novum celebrates the notions of rootedness, generational transmission and shared identities, and pays tribute to the bonds forged and the deep attachments created over these 25 years.

Join them on Thursday December 19th at 8pm at the Théâtre Copeau at the Saint-Étienne Opera (FR).

In this final instalment of the trilogy devoted to popular repertoires revived throughout Europe at the beginning of the 17th century, Les Kapsber'girls take us on a journey to the end of the Spanish Golden Age, focusing on one of the most important genres of the period: the Tonos Humanos.

In contrast to the Tonos Divinos, the term Tonos Humanos covers the vernacular strophic songs appropriated by Spanish composers of the period, such as the Villanelles in Italy and the Brunettes in France.

In this programme, with the shimmering colours of a Spain still ablaze, the quartet pays tribute to the key composers who shaped the Iberian musical repertoire: Juan Arañés (...-1649), José Marin (1619-1699), Mateo Romero (1575-1647) and others.

With their characteristic taste for sonic textures, Les Kapsber'girls invite two additional instruments to join them: the harp and percussion, offering themselves the opportunity to enrich their palette of colours. Instrumental music was not forgotten by composers such as Gaspar Sanz (ca 1640-1710) and Diego Fernandez De Huete (1635-1713), who drew inspiration from fashionable songs and dances, leaving in their wake a wealth of tunes for guitar and harp, two emblematic instruments of Spanish Baroque music.
