Agathe Peyrat & Pierre Cussac will open the Festival ExcellArt en fête at the Salle Goudailler in Magny le Hongré (FR) on Friday April 26th at 7.30pm with their programme Je chante la nuit : Agathe Peyrat (vocals & ukulele) & Pierre Cussac (accordion & vocals) are veritable tightrope walkers.

Operating on a suspended bridge between classical and pop music, these two jacks-of-all-trades take the plasticity of the voice-accordion duo through its most unexpected detours. After an initial programme that gave pride of place to chanson, here they are embracing the 'grand repertoire' of the masters Rameau, Puccini and Fauré in a concert that takes the dust off conventional wisdom.

At the crossroads of worlds, they imagine a journey on the theme of day and night, taking up the challenge with mischief and infectious good humour: an opera aria by Bizet becomes a luminous blues, a melody by Debussy is transformed into a melancholy ballad, the Beatles converse with Purcell...

And sleeping masterpieces are revealed to be more alive than ever!
