Guillaume Coppola (biographie courte) Piano

'Un piano de soleil'
La Croix, Emmanuelle Giuliani

After seven highly acclaimed original recordings in the international press, and being compared to the great Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli by Pierre Gervasoni in Le Monde, Guillaume Coppola has now ‘confirmed his place among the great artists of his generation’ (Diapason).

He has performed in some twenty countries, on prestigious stages in France and Europe - Salle Pleyel, La Roque d'Anthéron, Folle Journée de Nantes, Piano aux Jacobins, Festival Chopin in Paris, Festival Radio France et Montpellier, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Rudolfinum in Prague, Philharmonie de Liège... - as well as in Asia and South America. In demand by orchestras such as the Orchestre National de Montpellier, the Orchestre symphonique de Saint-Etienne and the Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche-Comté, he has performed under the baton of Arie van Beek, Enrique Mazzola and Laurent Campellone.

Sharing the stage with Hervé Billaut in a highly acclaimed piano duo (two albums and dozens of concerts), he is also a privileged partner of Raphaël Perraud, Arnaud Thorette, Lise Berthaud, Régis Pasquier, Patrice Fontanarosa, Marc Mauillon, and the Voce, Parisii, Debussy and Alfama quartets. He has taken part in productions combining narrative and music with François Castang, Marie-Christine Barrault and Didier Sandre, and has also collaborated with composers such as Florentine Mulsant, Marc Monnet, Isabel Pires, Gao Ping and Steven Stucky.
A student of Bruno Rigutto at the CNSMD in Paris, where he won two First Prizes in piano and chamber music, he has perfected his skills in numerous master classes in France and abroad. He has also received invaluable support from the Radio France Génération Jeunes Interprètes programme, the Lion's Club, the Cziffra and Bourgeois Foundations, the French Institute's Prix Déclic, and the New Masters on Tour tour.
