Ananda Brandaõ Vocals and drums

Ananda Brandaõ is a young Franco-Brazilian artist on the Paris jazz scene. She grew up in a family of musicians, and developed a passion for drums in her teens. When she joined the CMDL in 2020, she met a number of talented young musicians with whom she played in some of the most emblematic venues on the Paris jazz scene (Sunset, Baiser Salé, 38 Riv) in projects ranging from jazz to folk, from samba to pop, alongside young artists such as Hugo Corbin, Nina Gat and Monika Kabasele. In 2023, she was accepted onto the jazz master's programme at London's prestigious Royal Academy of Music.

The young drummer has also performed with legendary American organist Rhoda Scott's Lady All Star team, replacing Anne Paceo, where she shared the stage with French jazz greats Sophie Alour and Géraldine Laurent (to name but a few).

Through her projects, Ananda composes, sings and arranges, and today seeks to explore new ways of blending the music of her Brazilian origins and her various influences (folk, English rock, etc.) with the current jazz scene. With her quartet ‘Ninanda’, supported by the Paris Jazz Club and winner of the Rezzo 2024 springboard at the Festival Jazz à vienne, she also won the prestigious René Urtreger prize in 2024. She is also the voice of the theme song ‘Somos la Nueva Tierra’ from the animated film Pachamama (produced by Folivari and nominated for a César award).
