Axelle Verner (version longue) Chant mezzo-soprano

Axelle Verner graduated from the Maîtrise de Notre Dame de Paris, then from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon, where she studied baroque singing and early music in Robert Expert's class. In 2019, she joined the Pôle lyrique d'excellence directed by Cécile de Boever. She won third prize at the Froville International Baroque Singing Competition in 2019.

Axelle Verner performs regularly as a soloist and in ensembles with Les Kapsber'girls (Albane Imbs), La Tempête (Simon-Pierre Bestion), Le Poème Harmonique (Vincent Dumestre), Les Arts Florissants (William Christie and Paul Agnew), Correspondance (Sébastien Daucé), Les Traversées baroques (Judith Pasquier and Etienne Meyer).

Singer, illustrator, and dancer, Axelle Verner places multidisciplinarity at the heart of her artistic approach. She enjoys creating unique experiences for audiences, blending arts and forms, weaving connections between song, movement, and image.

Driven by a constant need for renewal, she does not hesitate to explore other musical styles such as minimalist pop-baroque on her album 50/50 with the Concert de l'Hostel Dieu and original compositions by David Chalmin, or video game music with Lorien Testard and Alice Duport-Percier for the game Clair obscur: Expédition 33.

A researcher with a passion for the French language of old, she has participated in several conferences and articles, such as “Métrifier le chant, dérivations parallèles entre musique et texte chez les trouvères” (Metrifying song, parallel derivations between music and text among the troubadours) and “La Musication dans les chansons d'Henry Fresneau” (Musicalization in the songs of Henry Fresneau) with Timothée Premat (Doctor of Language Science) and Sophie Chouvion (Doctor of Musicology).
