Born of the encounter between two particularly creative virtuosos, 'Loco cello' (the cello in madness) casts a new light on jazz, classical, tango and traditional music from Central Europe.

With more than forty albums acclaimed by the press, he has received the highest awards (Victoires de la musique, BBC Palme d'Or, Diapasons d'Or de l'année, Chocs du Monde de la musique, more than 10 international first prizes...), François Salque is now a reference. His charisma, sensitivity and breathtaking virtuosity have led him to play with the greatest musicians in over 70 countries. As for Samuel Strouk, a rising star of jazz, guitarist, composer and conductor, his versatility allows him to approach multiple musical languages with ease and has led him to collaborate with the greatest European orchestras.

Fascinated by the freedom and the sound flavours that this new formation allows them, always supported by Jérémie Arranger's precise and warm double bass, these two creators constantly push back the limits of the imposed routes, invent a path that resembles them and transform each of their encounters into a unique and jubilant moment!

Sometimes elegant and lyrical, sometimes virtuoso and incandescent, their music celebrates the union of different musical traditions, from tango to jazz, from the classical repertoire to world music, from traditional themes to contemporary music, punctuated by astonishing cascades of sound and other evocative folkloric explosions that they reinvent together with an unprecedented intuition for crossovers.

The trio will also be performing concerts with their favourite guests: Adrien Moignard (guitar), Vincent Lê Quang (saxophones) and Biréli Lagrène, the sacred monster of gypsy jazz and direct heir to Django Reinhardt!

Following the success of their two previous albums (including Tangorom with Biréli Lagrène!) and almost two hundred concerts in France and abroad, the musicians of Loco Cello will once again be creating a magical symbiosis between several worlds in fantastically evocative cascades of sound with their third album Mirages, a bold musical proposition exalting the nuances and infinite possibilities of each instrument, oscillating between pure emotion and breathtaking virtuosity!
