Alongside love

"If you wish, your breath
will be our song.
Roots intertwined,
branches entwined,
all voices, one voice,
all echoes, one wave.
On your murmuring beach,
we will hear each other.
Silence.
"

- François Cheng, Le long d’un amour - 2003

With this new programme, the Canticum Novum ensemble invites you to a unique artistic experience, where music and poetry echo each other.

Inspired by François Cheng's poetic cycle Le long d’un amour, this show highlights the evocative power of words and sounds from distant horizons.

Through original musical creations by Aliocha Regnard, Bayan Rida and Henri-Charles Caget, as well as traditional music from the Mediterranean basin and the Middle East, this programme explores the intricacies of romantic love, between contemplation, exaltation and spiritual quest.

On stage, four musicians and an actress weave a sensitive dialogue between poetry and music, offering a spellbinding immersion into a world where languages and cultures meet and reinvent themselves. Le long d'un amour is an invitation to travel, a vibrant tribute to the beauty of words and the timeless emotion that only music can reveal.
