Claire-Marie Le Guay launches M+, a series of choreographed concerts, and invites dancer and choreographer Constant Vigier.

A freelance choreographer, Constant Vigier took part in the "Tell Tale Steps" choreographic laboratory organised by the Northern Ballet in Leeds, and created works for the IMAGES company at the London Studio Centre. An alumnus of the Ecole de danse de l'Opéra de Paris, he directs summer choreographic workshops for this prestigious institution.

* M+ DAPHNIS ET CHLOÉ

Ravel's collaboration with Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes gave rise in 1912 to Daphnis et Chloé, of which Claire-Marie Le Guay recorded the original piano version (Accord/UNIVERSAL). To mark the 150th anniversary of Ravel's birth, Claire-Marie Le Guay has teamed up with dancer and choreographer Constant Vigier to create a new version of this emblematic masterpiece. "No sound but the murmur of rivulets gathered by the dew flowing from the rocks. Daphnis is still lying in front of the nymphs' cave. Little by little, day breaks."

* M+ BACH

4th Partita, Chaconne, Pieces

Imagine Bach sitting at his desk. He concentrated on writing for the harpsichord. He composed the Suites and Partitas, in which dance and music become one. I wanted to bring the audience into the intimacy of his studio, as if we were right next to him, sitting at his writing table, in dialogue with the dancer and choreographer Constant Vigier.
Who better than Bach to make us dance to music? Who better than Bach to lift us up with his music, with gravity and lightness? Claire-Marie Le Guay

* M+ RAVEL

Ravel Sonatine
Ravel Miroirs
Ravel Le lever du jour, 3rd part of the ballet Daphnis et Chloé in the original version for piano

To mark the 150th anniversary of Ravel's birth, Claire-Marie Le Guay has teamed up with Constant Vigier to present a ‘Mirror’ of music and dance, which occupies a central place in the composer's output. A friend of the dancer Ida Rubinstein, Ravel choreographed his music, in the Waltz for example, just as much as his music, the Concerto in G and the Bolero in particular, inspired choreographers. Here, the shimmering Sonatine, Miroirs and Le Lever du jour awaken our imagination.
