Ensemble Contraste

The music we want you to discover is the kind that leaves room for pleasure. We want to tell the story of this other 20th century through composers as diverse as Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie, Nadia Boulanger, Francis Poulenc, Manuel De Falla, Steve Reich, Astor Piazzolla, John Adams, Bernard Hermann and Vladimir Cosma.

In the form of a 1h30 concert with commentary, a concert version of the book published by Buchet-Chastel, Karol Beffa will alternate between anecdotes, musical examples, and stories big and small. His musician friends will take listeners to the heart of the composers' works, creating bridges between eras, countries and styles.
