Ensemble Contraste
Arnaud Thorette, viola
Johan Farjot, piano & arrangements
Rémy Poulakis, accordion
Alix Merckx, double bass
Building on the success of their first tango adventure 15 years ago, with the album Café 1930 and a major tour acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, violist Arnaud Thorette and pianist Johan Farjot are diving back into the world of this music that has always been a part of their lives with Ensemble Contraste.
They have invited accordionist Rémy Poulakis and double bassist Alix Merckx to join them.
These four virtuoso musicians, influenced by classical and jazz, revisit tango and the most beautiful pieces by Piazzolla, Gardel, Villoldo and Yradier.
Original arrangements and an uninhibited style blending tradition and modernity.
Programme:
Piazzolla: Adios Noniño, Oblivion, Tangata, Ave Maria, Café 1930, Libertango, Volver, El día que me quieras, La cumparsita...
