In this story, whose 48 scenes drawn by Olivier Crépin correspond to the 48 preludes by Scriabin and Chopin performed by Fanny Azzuro, a young pianist embarks on a quest for perfection that is as impossible as it is absurd. The tone is at times absurd, at times biting, as the audience plunges into the young pianist's golden dreams.
Will Chopin and Scriabin pass through his dreamlike inner world? This question remains open, as does the following one: are we attending a concert whose emotions are heightened tenfold by the narrative, or a comic strip transcended by the incredible virtuosity of the pianist performing on stage?
The two artists will leave the audience, young and old alike, to interpret this innovative work as they wish. Its hybridity is also to be found within the story itself, which borrows as much from philosophical tales as from children's stories, mixing digital aesthetics and image composition in the manner of a paper-cut creation.
There are a number of dates and recitals to look forward to at the start of the year: first in the Drôme (Sérénades en baronnies festival in France), then as part of the music season at the Abbey aux Dames auditorium, before returning to the excitement of La Folle Journée in Nantes (FR)!
