Quatuor Leonis
MUSICAL COMEDY SHOW
Storm on the strings
Creation: spring 26
A violinist's delivery from Amazon, a quartet playing on the moon, a dive into a cellist's brain, Beethoven and Mozart resurrected after a seance gone wrong, a crazy violin lesson, an improvised recital in a sauna, a quartet transformed into Mariachis... Strings that snap, a telescopic bow, acrobatic positions and dances set to the nail (or rather, to the horsehair...), Tempête sur les cordes is a musical show that can be savored like a box of chocolates with only one text: Music.
By turns virtuoso concert performers, flamenco dancers and grunge rock band, the Leonis Quartet's new opus offers a format directly inspired by Sempé's albums and the spirit of the famous Quartet.
Mastering their instruments to perfection, our four explorers of the absurd lead us through a gallery of funny and poetic tableaux, with the main theme being their love for the music of the great composing geniuses.
Whether you're a spectator curious to discover classical music in a different way, or a music lover with a taste for burlesque musical treats, Tempête sur les cordes will sweep you up in a whirlwind of laughter and emotion!
Following on from the success of Eclisse Totale , the Leonis Quartet was keen to compose a new stage score of musical humor, this time with the help of the talented Laurent Cirade (le Quatuor, Duel) as co-writer and director.
The choice of Laurent Cirade to collaborate on the conception of this show stems from the desire to inscribe this 3rd opus of the Quatuor Leonis in the wake of their elders, both for the burlesque dimension and for the poetic color they have been able to infuse on stage throughout their 40-year career.
What's more, the “light scenography” approach advocated by Laurent Cirade makes this new creation mobile and adaptable to both small and large venues. This approach is entirely relevant in a changing cultural world, in search of proximity and the alleviation of technical constraints that can weaken the proper dissemination of this type of show.
