Juliette Hurel is an international concert performer, principal flute with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and professor at the Rotterdam Conservatory (Codarts).
First Prize winner in flute at the Paris Conservatoire, winner of numerous international competitions, and nominated in 2004 in the category “Instrumental Soloist Revelation of the Year” at the Victoires de la Musique Classique, she is considered one of the leading flutists on the international music scene.
In demand around the world, she has performed at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Wigmore Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and the National Concert Hall in Taipei.
She has performed as a soloist with leading French orchestras, as well as with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Colombia, the Orchestre Metropolitain de Montréal, the BBC Orchestra of Wales, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, and others.
She is passionately committed to contemporary music, premiering works by composers such as Pascal Dusapin, Philippe Hersant, Bruno Mantovani, and others.
Juliette Hurel enjoys getting involved in unusual projects, such as the concert-reading in tribute to the muse and patron Misia Sert, conceived in collaboration with Hélène Couvert and Julie Depardieu.
Her critically acclaimed discography explores a wide range, from Bach to forgotten female composers.
In May 2026, Harmonia Mundi will release an album of French music featuring Isabelle Moretti.
