Julien Guilloton Basse

After several years of playing the trumpet and studying music, Julien Guilloton discovered a passion for choral singing, which he quickly fulfilled with the demanding Mikrokosmos choir, specialising in contemporary a cappella music.

He recorded several albums and film scores with the choir and won numerous prizes at prestigious international competitions (Tours, Varna, Tolosa).

Julien then studied for four years in the Netherlands to perfect his deep bass vocal technique.

Since 2009, he has performed professionally in France and abroad with major classical ensembles such as Pygmalion, the Ensemble Aedes, the Concert d'Astrée, and Dulci Jubilo.

In 2011, he also turned his attention to one-part ensembles in order to explore a wide range of musical styles.

The vocal sextet Opus Jam led him towards amplified jazz music, while ClimaX focused on barbershop and close harmony. The Quatuor A'dam and L'Autre Quatuor took him towards varied repertoires, both sacred and secular, through lieder, song and gospel.
