Quatuor Akilone (bio courte/short bio) Quatuor à cordes

The Akilone Quartet is the fruit of a musical and human adventure that began in Paris in 2011. Mainly guided by Hatto Beyerle, founder of the ECMA, the quartet won the First Grand Prize at the 8th Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition in 2016, and has since become a member of internationally renowned ensembles, giving regular concerts in leading venues in France and abroad.

Anchored in its time, the Akilone Quartet is also turned towards creation; it is notably the dedicatee and co-sponsor of the work of composer Xu Yi. In 2023, the Quartet will travel to the Czech Republic to follow in the footsteps of Dvořák, accompanying their CD ‘Deep in the Forest’ with a podcast of Dvořák's work by Tristan Labouret.

Musically committed, the Akilone Quartet has always felt the need to share music with all kinds of audiences: this fundamental approach is nurtured by a loyal collaboration with Les Concerts de Poche. Also sensitive to environmental issues, the Quartet is a member of the ARVIVA network.
